The necklace version of the classic juin phul-er gorher mala is no less enchanting a jewel and, hugging the neck, makes for a rather enticing ornament, somewhat removed from the sacred symbolism of the original full-length (28 inch) garland.
The juin-phul remains the same : a die that's been in use for no less than forty years returns flowers that are softer, the edges slightly uneven, and the serrations on them naturally planed with use so that the petals seem palpably real. That's the beauty of the ageing process of repoussé blocks ; if kept correctly, steeped in oil, they'll yield impressions that gradually become sweetly imperfect and therefore, like all imperfect things, take on a living, organic character. In this case, that's what makes our juin-phul necklace/gorher mala quite unique.
And, if you want to infuse the essence of jasmine in your guinea gold har, might we recommend some perfumes that may go well with it and with your personality, if this is your choice of ornament :
Sergei Lutens, with the brilliant 'La Nuit' (an evening perfume) ; Jean Patou's 'Joy' (always for the grand occasion) ; Chanel's 'No.5' (who doesn't love this evergreen scent !) ; 'Songes' by Annick Goutal (utterly romantic) ; and 'Lust' from Lush (for that touch of carefree transgression). Remember to be cautious in your use ; these are all perfumes with tremendous sillage. You wouldn't want to overdo it.
