That striking perforated naksha medallion centrepiece, modelled on the sugar-dusted decoration on a flawless flourless almond cake with orange icing, has been retained from the first version of this iconic necklace created just about a year ago in tribute to Dr.Chandreyee, the brilliant and kind doctor who also cooks for everyone once a year to raise funds for her foundation but uses baking to relieve the continual stress she goes through each day in her profession.
It's opportune then that Dr.Chandreyee, being a gynaecological surgeon of great repute, should meet the owner of this jewel in terms of pure guinea gold, for the latter, when she ordered this, was gravid with her first child.
It's also why the other aspects of the necklace, besides its monumental form, have been altered to usher in new life.
